Biking and hiking are second nature here in Palm Coast and the Flagler Beaches. With more than 100 miles of trails to choose from with a variety of different levels, there is something for everyone. Florida’s nearly perfect year-round weather invites cyclists to hit the roads and trails regularly, and bicycling in Palm Coast and Flagler Beach is a growing sport.

Off-road adventurers will enjoy Graham Swamp Preserve. This trail is 6.5 miles of technical riding, making good use of the ridges and valleys to provide a constant elevation challenge. Off-road riding opportunities are also expanding in the area with the push from a newly organized off-road cycling club. The second trail completed in Palm Coast is just the first from the club. It’s located along the coast in the Hammock area, known as the Mala Compra trail. Looking for an easier ride? Many of the parks offer paved trails like the St. Joe Walkway / Linear Park with scenic Intracoastal views as well as those of the maritime forest and hardwood hammock.

Palm Coast has four Bicycle Maintenance Stations – at Waterfront Park, Linear Park, the Lehigh Trail trailhead on Belle Terre Parkway and the Graham Swamp trailhead on Old Kings Road – available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The stations have a horizontal, padded post to hang the bike from so bicyclists can rotate the pedals to adjust gears, change a tire or perform other maintenance. A tire pump with a tire pressure gauge is also provided at each station. All necessary tools, including metric sizes, are provided at the station and hang from attached cables inside the main post. A QR Code – which can be scanned using a smart phone – is displayed on the main post to assist bicyclists who need information on how to change a tire, adjust the gears, brakes, etc. Written instructions, as well as videos, are available using the QR Code.
